On Saturday, May 5, in celebration of the Cherry Blossom Festival in Bay Head, NJ, the public is invited to attend a preview showing of the new works of artist Christine DeAngelis. This new collection will be an exclusive presentation only at The Jolly Tar, 56 Bridge Ave, Bay Head, NJ.

Christine DeAngelis started her career as a textile artist in New York City and as her family grew she worked in oils some 30 years ago. She then branched out into another medium that intrigued her, watercolors, successfully working in both techniques. Her work is both mediums is appreciated by collectors for her bright cheery colors and her talent for effective use of light. Her unusually broad range of subject matter, from water scenes of the coast to the woodlands of the Adirondacks, from florals and still life to people and animals, has made Christine DeAngelis popular with clients throughout the New Jersey and New York area. she is also represented in collections located elsewhere throughout the northeast as well as in Colorado, Florida, Texas and Canada. One of her paintings in on permanent display at the Suffern, New York public library.

Christine DeAngelis is particularly well-known in her home territory of Bergen County, New Jersey, where she has often exhibited many of her works. In addition to her may Bergen County shows, she was a participating artist in a group show at the Cork Gallery in Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts in New York City. She has won many ribbons for both her oils and her watercolors in almost every show that she has entered.

Christine DeAngelis has worked with many nationally known artists and has painted with Adelaide Werger in watercolor, and is presently working with Billie Samuelson in watercolor and Barbara Kozell in oils. She is a long-standing member of the Community Arts Association of Bergen County. Her work is currently on display for exclusive sale throughout the year in The Back Room Gallery at The Jolly Tar.
