Chairs are too often presented as mere signs and are stripped of their authenticity. Ms. Banai explores the essence of chairs and concentrate on colors and forms to reclaim the chair's identity.

By photographing chairs in their natural and cultural setting around the world she demonstrates that similar objects take different shapes and colors contingent on the local weather, season, architecture and light, as well as people.

Over the last decade I have had more than twenty exhibitions in galleries and museums in the USA, Israel and Russia, and her photographs are on display in numerous private collections. She is currently exploring the essence of dates, palms and fruits.
