ABOUT THE ARTIST AND HIS WORK

FRANK KOHNER'S love of buttons came naturally because of his family's business involvement in the manufacturing of buttons in Europe. A self-taught artist, Mr. Kohner began 'painting' with buttons during his retirement, and now creates works with buttons in twenty-six colors and six sizes. Sometimes including specially turned buttons that measure up to four inches in diameter.

Working exclusively with buttons, Mr. Kohner creates visually stunning compositions that radiate compelling and complicated designs. Recently his work was shown at the Christina Gallery in Atlanta, Georgia and the Interchurch Center in New York.
