ZION OZERI |
There are many theories and legends about when the Jews first arrived in Yemen; some date the Jewish presence back to the First Temple times and others, to the period after the destruction of the Temple in 586 BCE. The distinctive characteristics of Yemenite Jewery are disappearing. The younger generation has abandoned most of their parents customs. Zion's photographic work captures the last Jews of Yemen. Zion Ozeri was born in Israel to Yemenite parents in 1951. He is currently living in New York and is one of the Jewish world's leading photojournalists.
