D.J. Marcotulio is a self educated artist-photographer. Dorothy has combined her favorite photos with watercolor painting , and call the finished works "Extended Photography". It is a unique art form, in that it is difficult to distinguish the photo at the center of the water color. Her colors are so well blended they merge into one beautiful form. Another aspect of D.J. Marcotulio is her original watercolor works which are also very popular and are in private collections from Hawaii to the U.K. she is represented by Village Green Art works in Lafayette, NJ., and Crane Creek Station in Melbourne FL. Dorothy is currently and active member in The Brevard Watercolor Society, FL. The Melbourne Beach W/C Society, Melbourne, FL. the Ringwood Manor Art Association, Ringwood, NJ, The Community Arts Association, Allendale, NJ, Warwick Art League, Warwick, NY, and The Space Coast Art League in Satellite Beach, Fl. Dorothy has an 'art background' beginning with Arts HS in Newark, NJ and after raising her family, she re-entered the art world by studying at the Ridgewood School Of Fine Arts. She continued her studies with Albert & Schlentz Studios, and also attended various workshops by Tom Lynch, Gustave Wander, and many more. She belongs to the Brevard Museum of Arts & Science in Melbourne, FL. She has exhibited her works in juried shows in NJ, FL, and NY. Dorothy has earned awards in all three states. Her most recent success was a 50 ft. 'sports' mural commissioned for the Town of Ringwood, NJ. She accepts private commissions and custom work beginning at $125.
