Art in Power Technology
About The Artist
I have combined my interests in boats and railroads with my love of painting in watercolors. Although I paint many different landscapes, I love to portray the power of a steam engine as it thunders down the tracks, belching smoke; or the colors of a fast tug as it goes about its work in the harbor. I enjoy painting in two styles: wet in wet, with a fast loose style; and very detailed, with strong subject matter. Working in the former allows me to have the spontaneity I love in watercolors, but it has also helped me to create more true images of my favorite subjects. Capturing the mood of my subjects is what I continuously work towards, be it a bright, sun washed beach or a cold snow winters' day.
