  Summer is such a beautiful time of the year. Flowers are in full bloom in gardens and fields, wherever you look. Another sign of the summer is the arrival of butterflies and other warm climate insects and animals. Contained below are just a few images that we were able to capture. FLOOD ON THE RAMAPO

 

 

Most of the time the river is quite placid, but recently Hurricane Floyd brought some of the worst flooding since 1984.

Comments:
The lily plant on a tall 3 foot stalk, supports very beautiful blooms that stay for a two week period and then we wait for a replacement. This gorgeous flower looks like regal scarlet velour.

Comments: The perennial plant of the crowfoot family have just the most luxuriant double blooms. It is necessary to place stakes to support these heavy flowers.

The vegetable with the old name of 'love apple' produces a wonderful fruit. There is nothing better tasting than a tomato in a summer salad or eaten by itself. These beauties wait as ripening will shortly begin.

 

Comments: One wonders how these magnificently colored flowers have gotten to this point. The creativity of nature to come up with all these unique shapes and patterns is just breath-taking.
